Starter:
1) In your team, talk about how you can use a number line to show which integer is 7 units in the negative direction from 10, and which integer is 10 units in the positive direction from -7.
2) In your team, talk about how you can change the examples for solving 5-(-5) and -5-5 to show 5-(-2) and -2-5.
Practice (Homework):
In class and at home, practice adding, subtracting, and multiplying integers. You may use GoMath, flashcards, KhanAcademy, or any other resource you choose. However you choose to practice, you must turn in the following on a piece of paper:
1) Write a numeric equation and draw a picture to show which integer is two units in the positive direction from 10 on a number line.
2) Draw a picture of the Additive Inverse to show 8-(-9) = 17.
*Because of today's assembly, our lesson on Multiplying Integers has been pushed back to tomorrow.
2) Draw a picture of the Additive Inverse to show 8-(-9) = 17.
